Excerpt
Excerpt: Will convene the 8th annual Commercial Space Transportation Conference on February 10th at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC. The theme for the 2005 conference is ?Ready for the Next Giant Leap,? focusing on the latest developments in expendable and reusable launch vehicle technology, space tourism, and educating the space transportation workforce. FAA Associate Administrator for Commercial Space Transportation Patricia Grace Smith will welcome guests on the opening day of the Conference and FAA Administrator, Marion Blakey, will give the keynote address. One of the proposed highlights of the conference for the second day will be a presentation by Brian Binnie, the man who piloted SpaceShipOne on its second historic flight that won the Ansari X Prize on October 4, 2004.
